The Giana kickstarter made it. Which means that I get Hülsbeck and Machinae Supremacys soundtrack in FLAC format. Yum! (Oh, and the awesome looking game too. But I doubt my PC would run it. Kickstarter: Project Giana (The Great Giana Sisters)

Sign in to your Hardcore Gamer account Way back in the 80s there was a Mario clone called The Great Giana Sisters, but due to being just a bit too faithful to its source material, Nintendo nuked it from orbit. Fast forward 25 years (plus a remake for the DS) and Project Giana popped up on Kickstarter. This all-new game looks absolutely gorgeous, and now that the demo is out you can see that it plays as good as it looks. Project Giana's demo comprises two full levels, one from the very beginning so you can learn the controls and a much tougher one from later on. Both levels do an excellent job of making you use the full range of Giana's skills, which change depending on the form you're using. Cute Giana has a twirl move that acts as a double-jump, and holding the twirl button down makes her descend slower. Punk Giana, on the other hand, can blast off like a rocket, useful for breaking bricks and bouncing off walls. The twirl and rocket moves are always available, instantly switching Giana to the correct alignment when activated, but the way the level reacts to Giana's current incarnation means you may want to be careful about the transition. Cute Giana runs through a dark, twisted version of the level, while Punk Giana gets a brighter, more cheerful backdrop. The level design changes on the fly, instantly (and impressively) switching from dark to light and then back again, but devices, enemies, and the crystal pickups may respond better to one form than the other. Rotating platforms switch from clockwise to counter-clockwise, elevators rise or fall, and even some enemies become harmless, depending on Giana's current alignment. The two levels on display have you constantly switching back and forth between Cute and Punk to snag extra gems or solve platforming puzzles, and you might even find yourself hanging out in a safe spot changing forms just to watch the transformations of all the lovely background details. At the time of this writing Project Giana has four days left on the clock, and it's going to take some seriously bad luck to miss the funding goal. I can tell you based on the demo that it's a great-looking game with solid controls and loads of fun level design, and absolutely worth backing, but the demo is relatively small and easily acquired. Go check it out, odds are good you'll be happy you did.. 下载Project Giana [ZH] Project Giana herunterladen [DE] Download Project Giana [EN] Ladda ner Project Giana [SV] Download Project Giana [NL] Tải xuống Project Giana [VI] ダウンロードProject Giana [JA] Unduh Project Giana [ID] Project Giana indir [TR]

Project Giana - forums.tigsource.com

Do you remember a game from the 80s called Great Giana Sisters, made for the Commodore 64? It was a blatant ripoff of Super Mario Bros, and the creators were quickly sued by Nintendo and the game pulled from the market. This supposedly made it legendary in the eyes of gamers, despite being a rather shitty game in my opinion. I tried to play it multiple times but never found it fun. It was like playing Mario without the polish and entertaining parts. Cue 2012 and Kickstarter, and we're seeing a new Giana game about to be finished. I initially dismissed it without even giving it a look, but when I finally did read up on it I was glad I did. It's entirely different from the original, moving away from Mario and taking things in a unique direction. It's still a platformer, but the challenges aren't the ones you're used to. You play Giana who's gathering gems in a dream world. She can change between two personalities: One is the happy, cute Giana who feels most comfortable in a dark, twisted world filled with demons and death. The other is the punky, goth Giana who finds herself in a cute dream world with fluffy bunnies and bright colors, making her angry and aggressive. You can swap between these two worlds at will, and are often required to do so, even mid-jump. Much of the challenge comes from swapping between these two worlds at the right time. When you do, the extremely catchy music changes accordingly. In the happy dream world the soundtrack is metal, while it's more mellow electronica in the demon world (yeah, Giana is a bit messed up in her head). I recommend giving the game a look. They've published a video walkthrough of one of the levels, and you'd be hard pressed to tell that this is a work in progress as it both looks and feels like a finished, polished product. If that's not enough for you, they've even released a 2-level demo version that you can play around with at will. The first level is easy enough, but the second one will truly challenge your reflexes. The Kickstarter has reached its goal of $150,000, but it really needs $250,000 to get to the level of quality that the developers want. Most of the game is already finished, so the release date is very, very close (October this year). With only 38 hours to go at the time of writing, it needs all the help it can get. So go take a look at their Kickstarter page right now! Insert witty comment here. #1 Giana Sisters: Twisted DreamsGiana Sisters: Twisted Dreams is a wonderful game that offers a mixed up experience of the two most popular games Super Mario and Sonic. Project Giana on Kickstarter - YouTube

Rad Rodgers for PC, PS4 and XONE is a classic arcade platform game with 2.5D visuals. It was developed by Slipgate (previously known as Interceptor Entertainment). The developers used the Kickstarter website in 2016 and thus managed to gather enough money to finish the PC version of the game. In 2017, thanks to the cooperation with THQ Nordic, the console editions were also released.PlotThe game tells the story of the adventures of a twelve-year-old boy named Rad Rodgers. In the middle of the night, after a long videogame session, he notices that his console seems to spontaneously turn on. Seconds later he finds himself sucked in by and odd energy vortex and transported to another world, where he becomes the protagonist of his own game. He is accompanied by his old console, which has come to life and calls itself Dusty.MechanicsRad Rodgers is a classic arcade platform game inspired by such series as Commander Keen, Jazz Jackrabbit or Ruff 'n' Tumble, all of which utilize the 2.5D visuals. During the story campaign you have to travel through seven worlds. The game focuses on fighting varied and dangerous enemies, which you can defeat using a wide range of firearms. There are also other features, such as journeys to another dimension called Pixelverse, which change the gameplay mechanics. During those levels you control the protagonist's companion. Dusty's task is to eliminate the opponents, which are the represent the glitches in the game. After defeating them, new paths become available and previously invincible obstacles, which prevented you from progressing, disappear.Technical aspectsRad Rodgers features colorful 2D visuals, resembling such productions as Trine or Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, and an electronic soundtrack composed by Andrew Hulshult.Last updated on April 21, 2017
