IntroductionI started playing Skyrim on November 23rd, 2013, when I was 14 years old. The very first thing I did was the main questline, and one of the biggest impressions I had was that Lydia felt like a supporting character in the narrative, just without any characterization - a part of the plot that was just a skeleton.In Summer of 2018, after releasing a large quest mod for the first time, I decided to try my hand at splicing FemaleEvenToned lines together (this was before AI or even xVASynth, mind you) to create a Lydia expansion mod, but that was incredibly tedious for pretty lackluster writing.By Spring of 2020, after releasing another large quest mod, I realized that it wouldn't be that difficult to just re-cast the character. I spent a month writing about 350 lines, just to get Lydia to at least be on par with Erandur and Mjoll the Lioness and have some things to say about the main quest, and put a casting call out for a voice actress. Admittedly, I got a little impatient waiting for auditions, so I started looking through Nexus forums and the Skyrim Voice Alliance discord to reach out to people directly.
