Netscape Navigator was the dominant web browser during the early years of the Internet. Developed and marketed by Netscape Communications Corporation as an easy to use product, Netscape Navigator is credited with bringing the Internet within easy reach of the average computer user. Although proprietary software, Navigator was offered for free download and was often included with ISP software packages. As no web browser was included with either Microsoft Windows nor Macintosh operating systems at the time, Navigator was often the only available choice. As the success of Navigator was dependent upon its exclusivity, the inclusion of Internet Explorer in Windows led to a rather speedy demise in Navigator's dominance. While the first version of Netscape Navigator adhered very strictly to World Wide Web standards, later versions pushed the limits of network technology. Proprietary extensions to the HTML markup language and various interface innovations made the browser much more functional that the published standards allowed. However, webpages that took advantage of these proprietary features did so at the price of standards compatibility and thus those sites did not display properly on other web browsers. Notably, Microsoft's Internet Explorer also included many proprietary extensions that provided similar functionality, but were not compatible with the Netscape extensions. Thus, websites were forced to choose between either Netscape or IE, or to forfeit advanced features such as image support, JavaScript, and cookies. As Internet Explorer gained market share due to its inclusion in Windows, more and more webmasters coded for IE. Thus, more and more

Have you ever felt the need to have related information, annotated, and easily accessible from a single place? If so, Conceptual Navigator(tm) might be useful to you! Conceptual Navigator is a program that uses a concept-oriented approach to information management. In short, it is a Bookmark Manager and a Comment Manager oriented by concepts! It uses a tree of concepts to hold a hierarchy of concepts and associated data. The tree of concepts will make it easier for you to locate the relevant list of bookmarks that you are seeking. The lists of bookmarks can be used to: o hold Internet addresses (Web pages, etc.), o hold file locations on local hard drive or local network, o hold references to launch programs that are useful for specific tasks. Cached items are usually only stored for as long as the web server stipulates in its HTTP response messages.[10]During the course of browsing, cookies received from various websites are stored by the browser. Some of them contain login credentials or site preferences.[11] However, others are used for tracking user behavior over long periods of time, so browsers typically provide a section in the menu for deleting cookies.[11] Finer-grained management of cookies usually requires a browser extension.[12]The first web browser, called WorldWideWeb, was created in 1990 by Sir Tim Berners-Lee.[13][14] He then recruited Nicola Pellow to write the Line Mode Browser, which displayed web pages on dumb terminals.[15] The Mosaic web browser was released in April 1993, and was later credited as the first web browser to find mainstream popularity.[16][17] Its innovative graphical user interface made the World Wide Web easy to navigate and thus more accessible to the average person. This, in turn, sparked the Internet boom of the 1990s, when the Web grew at a very rapid rate.[17] Marc Andreessen, the leader of the Mosaic team, started his own company, Netscape, which released the Mosaic-influenced Netscape Navigator in 1994. Navigator quickly became the most popular browser.[18]Microsoft debuted Internet Explorer in 1995, leading to a browser war with Netscape. Within a few years, Microsoft gained a dominant position in the browser market for two reasons: it bundled Internet Explorer with Microsoft Windows, their popular operating system and did so as freeware with no restrictions on usage. The market share of Internet Explorer peaked at over 95% in the early 2000s.[19] In 1998, Netscape launched what would become the Mozilla Foundation to create a new browser using the open-source software model. This work evolved into the Firefox browser, first released by Mozilla in 2004. Firefox's market share peaked at 32% in 2010.[20] Apple released its Safari browser in 2003. Safari remains the dominant browser on Apple devices, though it did not become popular elsewhere.[21]Google debuted its Chrome browser in 2008, which steadily took market share from Internet Explorer and became the most popular browser in 2012.[22][23] Chrome has remained dominant ever since.[3] By 2015, Microsoft replaced Internet Explorer with Edge for the Windows 10 release.[24] Since the early 2000s, browsers have greatly expanded their HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and multimedia capabilities. One reason has been to enable more sophisticated websites, such as web apps. Another factor is the significant increase of broadband. Web navigator browser. The integrated server-side PL/SQL debugger can be used to debug Web server procedures, and lets you "step" through the procedures while the HTML code is generated.Optional add-on modules The SQL Navigator development environment includes an optional integrated PL/SQL Debugger that requires a separate license agreement. With the PL/SQL Debugger, you can initiate debugging from within an editing session by setting watches and breakpoints before or during debugging directly from the code editor. Variables can be examined and set during execution of procedures. You can execute any PL/SQL code step-by-step or point-to-point. The SQLab Xpert makes observations about a selected SQL statement and the underlying database environment, then recommends several options to improve performance. Users can then view the logic behind the advice, implement the recommendation, apply it to the database, and see the results.
